Foundation

The National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) has adopted a policy of continuous development of its staff and thus achieving the highest levels of competence and skill, so NEPCO adopted training as part of its plans to prepare and raise the efficiency of technical staff working in the areas of electrical system service and to keep abreast of the best international technologies and practices

To this end, the Electrical Training Center (ETC) was established in 1987, according to the agreement signed between the Jordanian Electricity Authority (currently the National Electric Power Company) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). ETC was officially inaugurated by His Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal on Sunday, November 13, 1988, as the center was equipped and provided with devices and equipment that are constantly updated to ensure the achievement of the goal of its establishment in providing training programs to prepare, develop and raise the skill and efficiency of technical and engineering cadres working in Electric power sector inside and outside the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Location

The Electrical Training Center is located in Zarqa Governorate, near the Jordanian capital, Amman. The total area of the center is about 51,000 sqm. The total building area of the center is about 6,000 sqm, 3,500 sqm, dedicated to laboratories and workshops, and 2,500 sqm, reserved for lecture rooms and administration building.
