Generation Sector

This sector bears the task of producing electric energy from generation stations and supplying this energy to the national transmission network. This sector includes the following companies:

  1. Central Electricity Generating Company
  2. Samra Electricity Power Company
  3. East Amman Generating Company
  4. Qatranh Generating Company
  5. Amman Asia Power Company (IPP3)
  6. AES LEVANT HOLING/ B.V JORDAN (IPP4)

Transmission Sector

This sector includes a single company, the National Electric Power Company, which is a public shareholding company wholly owned by the Jordanian government, here you can view NEPCO Objectives. The National Electric Power Company also owns the national control center and electric transmission lines of 132 kV and 400 kV with total lengths of about 5879 km-circuit, in addition to the main transmission stations 132/33 kV and 400/132 kV with a total capacity of about 14969 mV.a.

Distribution Sector

This sector is responsible for distributing electrical energy to the final consumer (domestic, commercial, industrial....), and this sector includes the following companies:

  1. Jordan Electricity Company: It is concerned with the tasks of electricity distribution in the center of the Kingdom.
  2. Irbid District Electricity Company: It is concerned with the tasks of electricity distribution in the north of the Kingdom.
  3. Electricity Distribution Company: It is concerned with the tasks of electricity distribution in the south of the Kingdom.

It should be noted that all of these companies are currently owned by the private sector.
