Workshops in brief

1. House wiring :
This workshop contains many electrical equipment that enables the participant to execute all the practical applications of electrical house wiring and fire alarms systems (traditional and addressable) and technical testing of house wiring to make sure they comply with the approved specifications.

2. Distribution networks:
This workshop has different models to simulate aerial distribution networks that enable the participant to identify and deal with the components of the electrical network, these models include:
 1. Low voltage overhead bare network.
 2. Low voltage aerial bundled cable network.
 3. Medium voltage overhead network (11, 33) kV.
 4. Street Lighting network.
 5. Energy meters.

3. Electrical Motor Maintenance:
This workshop contains equipment and apparatus for measuring, testing and materials to facilitate maintenance operations and rewinding motors and control operation, as it aims this workshop to give the participant knowledge of theoretical and applied for the maintenance of electric motors single-phase and three-phase and focuses on rewind these engines in order to reach the right steps that develop skill and ability to deal with the motor and control its operation within the required specifications.

4. Installation and maintenance of the indoor switching stations:
This workshop has a range of a minimum oil circuit breakers 33 and11 kV and loads switches 11 kV. The training held in inspection, maintenance and operation of this equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and carry the necessary tests on the electrical insulating oil. The workshop also has switching panels 33 kV SF6 for which consisting of three panels which contain voltage and current transformers, measuring devises, protection devices and bus bars .

5. Installation and maintenance of power plant auxiliaries:
This workshop has equipments such as pumps, valves fans which are used in power plant and factory. The training held in inspection, maintenance and operation of this equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and study the problems resulting from cracking and curvature of axes and using materials and devices and taking measurements and tolerances necessary and conduct alignment.

6. Basic workshop for metal forming and welding:
 The workshop is divided into five sections :-
 1-Metal forming:
This section has lathe machines, frizzing machines drilling machines. In this section training can be held how to form metal, how to make measurement, how to make halls and threads.
 
 2-Welding:
This section has TIG welding machine, Meg Mag machine, Arc welding machine and Oxyacetylene machine. In this section training can be held how to apply all type of welding needed in industry and electrical system such as all ferrous metals and white pipes high pressure welding, aluminum and stainless steel welding.

 7. Underground Cables for low and medium voltage:
This work shop has frames to do different type of cable joints for LV and MV cables such as straight joints and in door and out door termination joints. It has also different type of cable testing devices.

 8. Maintenance of electrical transformers:
This workshop contains many electric power transformers with different capacities, voltages, ratios and testing equipment. The training can be held how to maintain and test these transformers.

Laboratory

1. Electrical system simulator:
This simulator contains models of the electrical system (Generation, Transmission and Distribution) where it can be used to study the following phenomena:
- The impact of live line on dead line in double circuit transmission line.
- Voltage increase on the far end of the transmission line in case of no load.
- Impacts of load type on transmission line voltage.
- Behavior of electrical faults.
- Protection of electrical system components.

2. Generators Laboratory:
This laboratory aims to provide participants with basic information about the installation of generators and methods of excitations and run two generating units up to 4 kW combined with each other as well as the transfer of loads from the generating unit to another in preparation for maintenance operations.
This lab contains panel includes two generators with gauges installed on the same motherboard and speed control devices generator and control irritation and boards to provide diversified electric generator source to operate the generator and testing.

3. Basics of Electronics laboratory:
The aim of this laboratory to study electrical circuits theory and practice and calculate variables and know their characteristics and the basic laws to ensure that the participant dealing with the electrical system in a way that is based on sound scientific foundations reduce risk and bring a safe working environment with technical specifications are going in the right direction. The lab contains elements of electrical circuits and accessories, as well as the necessary measuring devices and training aids check the success of the goals of the laboratory.

4. Mechanical vibration laboratory:
The aim of this laboratory to provide trainee skill adequate theoretical and practical to detect faults early and before and updated through the analysis of fingerprint Mechanical vibration and include breakdowns unbalance , alignment , laxity , and belt gears and can also detect failures of electric motors analyzed fingerprint vibrations electric.

5. High-voltage laboratory:
This laboratory is equipped with equipments that allow the execution of the following tests:
- Air insulation.
- Solids insulation.
- Electrical withstand of insulating oils.
- Electric arc on electrical insulators for high-voltage lines.
- Lightning arrestor operation.
- The distribution of voltage on a string of electrical insulators.
- Electrical withstand of power transformers.

6. Hardness materials:
In this laboratory study the physical and mechanical properties of materials through the several trains stresses experiments, analysis and study of concentration of stresses and strains shock and crystal analysis for the installation of metal.

7. Electronics:
This laboratory aims to provide participants with information and basic concepts and methods of electronic testing and provide participants with the skills necessary to build electronic circuits and identify specific faults in electronic circuits, treatment and definition of electronic parts and symbols electronic circuit diagrams.
The lab contains electronic parts and boards stitches electronic parts for the implementation of electronic circuits followed by functioning of the circuit with ease and clarity with the provision of measuring and testing devices necessary.

8. Performance machines:
This laboratory study the performance of the machines and the best performance curve for the operation of the equipment, compressors and pumps and fans correct methods of operation at the site.

9. Control system:
This laboratory is designed to conduct experiments on automated control systems in operations control temperature and fluid levels manually and automatically, identifies trainee elements control circuits closed and open and supply and input and output signal for each element and practice settings control PID to be in his idealism.
This lab contains four important tests performed on the fluid to measure the level and the amount of pressure, temperature and flow of this fluid.

10. Electrical protection:
This lab contains different types of protection relays electrical induction and digital system used in the generation, transmission and distribution of electric energy and contains different types of modern test equipment used to test different kinds of protective equipment.
And conduct the necessary tests for current transformers and voltage using the appropriate injection devices.

11. Programmed logic control (PLC) and the monitoring and control system (SCADA):
The aim of this laboratory to give the participant the basic information for the operation and control applications logical programmed PLC and include installation of remote control and how to write command control and design logic circuits, storage, auditing and learning programming languages, loading and skills revise errors in addition to the effective implementation of a number of applications and examples.
 This lab contains logical devices to control programmed with computers and boards contain the entrances and exits are switches and sensors and loads.

12. Electrical Networks design Laboratory:
 This lab contains computers equipped with the latest versions os software for the design of transmission and distribution networks which enable the participant to execute the design process.
 
Training Yards

1. Outdoor Sub Station:
A. High voltage sub- station:
contains power transformer ( 40 MVA capacity) by converting 132kV/33kV and also grounding transformer ( 33kV/0.4kV) which provide appropriate supply to the sub- station equipment and lighting.
Outdoor Sub Station contains bus bars, 132 kV SF6 and minimum oil circuit breakers, voltage and current transformers on the 132kV system and surge arrestors. The training is performed to construct the main distribution station according to drawings of the manufacturer's and equipment testing and maintenance according to the manufacturer's instructions for such equipment.

B. Main distribution substation:
Contains power transformer (5 MVA) by conversion 33kV/11kV and SF6circuit breakers and isolation switch, and grounding switch , voltage and current transformer operating 33kv system , and has features of system grounding of equipments for the station, The training is performed to construct the main distribution station according to drawings of the manufacturer's and equipment testing and maintenance according to the manufacturer's instructions for such equipment.

C. Ground mounted distribution substations:
Contain terminal transformer with capacity (100 KVA )by conversion 11kV/0.4kV fed through oil load switches operated on voltage 11kV and distribution panel containing all the necessary equipment to measure voltage and power consumption also contain main circuit breaker equipped with major fuse to protect the feeders, subsidiary feeder street lighting. The training is performed to construct the distribution station according to drawings of the manufacturer's and equipment testing and maintenance according to the manufacturer's instructions for such equipment.

2. Distribution networks:
This training yard contains all types of poles, towers and conductors and the required for installations and maintenance of distribution networks. All equipments, tools and materials that enable the participant to exercise their practical applications are available in this yard.

3. Transmission line 132kv.:
In this yard 132 kV transmission network is available. It includes a number of transmission towers in addition to all the conductors and insulators, tools and equipments necessary for the installation and maintenance of 132 KV transmission networks.
